हम होंगे कामयाब एक दिन
हमारी वरुणा का यह प्रतीक चिह्न हमारे स्वयंसेवी कार्यकर्ता श्री मनोज श्रीवास्तव 'चंदू' जी ने बनाया है। मनोज भी पेशे से कंप्यूटर शिक्षक है और हमारे साथ शुरूआती दौर से ही जुड़ कर वरुणा संरक्षण के प्रयासों में लगे हुए है।मनोज भाई वरुणा तट पर वाराणसी के अर्दली बाजार मोहल्ले में रहते है । मनोज जी के पिता जी स्वयं वरुणा के लिए चिंतित रहा करते थे , उन्हें मोहल्ले के लोग डाक्टर साहब के रूप में जानते थे उन्होंने स्वच्छ और निर्मल वरुणा का सपना आज से २५ वर्ष पूर्व देखा था। डाक्टर साहब कों यह आभाष था कि आने वाले दिनों में वरुणा दुर्दशाग्रस्त होंगी । इसके लिए उन्होंने अपने तरफ से काफी प्रयास भी किया था। उनके द्वारा बनायीं गयी योजनाये हमे आज भी मार्गनिर्देशन देती है।

प्रतीक चिह्न के बारे में मनोज जी ने बताया की ऊपर सारनाथ स्थित धमेक स्तूप वरुणा और बौद्ध धर्म के प्राचीनतम संबंधो कों बताता है , साथ में वाराणसी कचहरी स्थित वरुणा पुल अपने आप में वास्तु का अद्भुत नमूना है। पुल के नीचे ऊपर की ओर उठी हुई नाव जिस पर हमारी वरुणा उकेरा गया है। हमारे संकल्पों और आस्था का प्रतीक है, जो यह बताता है की हम अपने संकल्पों से वरुणा कों उसका पुराना स्वच्छ और निर्मल स्वरुप अवस्य दिलाएंगे।

मनोज भाई कों बधाई , आज जब उनके बनाये हुए प्रतीक चिह्न कों देख लोग हमारे कार्यक्रमों से जुड़ रहे है तब हम मनोज जी के आत्मविश्वास और आस्था में खुद के लिए बार बार एक सन्देश पाते है " हम होंगे कामयाब एक दिन , हमे पूरा है विश्वास........."

वरुणा देव दीपावली{कार्तिक पूर्णिमा} १३ नवम्बर २००८

कार्तिक पूर्णिमा १३ नवम्बर २००८ को लाल बहादुर शास्त्री घाट वरुनापुल पर हमारी वरुण द्वारा देव दीपावली सद्भावना महोत्सव का आयोजन कर क्षेत्रीय जनता को वरुणा के प्रति जागरूक करने का प्रयास किया गया। इस आयोजन में १०० बटालियन एन सी सी उदय प्रताप कॉलेज वाराणसी के सहयोग से सहीद सम्मान एवं पर्यावरण जागरूकता रैली निकली गई।

दिन भर निशुल्क चिकित्सा सेवा सिविर लगाया गया। साम को विभिन्न विद्यालयों द्वारा पर्यावरण प्रतियोगिताएं आयोजित की गयी।

इंडिया वाटर पोर्टल के हिन्दी सन्सकरण पर वरुणा नदी पर चर्चा

१८ नवम्बर २००८ को नई दिल्ली के कांस्तितुशनल क्लब में इंडिया वाटर पोर्टल के हिन्दी सन्सकरण का उद्घाटन केंद्रीय जल संसाधन राज्य मंत्री श्री जय प्रकाश यादव ने किया। श्री यादव ने आशा व्यक्त किया की इस पोर्टल के माध्यम से हम पानी और पानी से सम्बंधित मुद्दों को एक दुसरे से अपनी भाषा में आसानी से बाँट सकेंगे। अर्घ्यम की अध्यक्षा सुश्री रोहिणी नीलकेनी ने स्वागत करते हुए पोर्टल को सफल और सबल बनाने की अपील की।
इस अवसर पर विशेष रूप से आमंत्रित वाराणसी से आए हमारी वरुणा के संयोजक व्योमेश चित्रवंश ने वाराणसी को नाम देने वाली आदि नदी वरुणा के दुर्दसा पर लोगो का ध्यान आक्रिस्ट करते हुए कहा की नदिया हमारे लिए प्रकृति की धरोहर के रूप में अमूल्य उपहार हैं जिन्हें हमे अपनी अगली पीढी को और अच्छे रूप में सौपना है। उन्होंने हमारी वरुणा द्वारा किए जा रहे कार्यो को बताते हुए वरुणा के प्रदुषण वबर्बादी पर एक सलिदे शो भी दिखाया।
कार्यक्रम में प्रख्यात जल शास्त्री डाक्टर अनुपम मिश्रा, उपेन्द्र शंकर ( jaldhara) , सिराज केशर, रवि घटे, संजय तिवारी,मनोज शर्मा के अतिरिक्त बरी संख्या में पत्रकार एवं जल योद्धा व कार्यकर्ता मोजूद थे.

हमारी वरुणा द्वारा वाराणसी जिला मुख्यालय पर डाक्टर जोशी कमेटी की रिपोर्ट लागु कर उसके अनुसार अविरल गंगा की धारा हेतु धरासू से कोटेश्वर तक वैकल्पिक गंगा जल प्रवाह निकले जाने हेतु धर्न्र का आयोजन किया गया। सूर्य भान सिंह "पृथ्वी मित्र" के नेतृत्व में इस धरने में डाक्टर व्योमेश चित्रवंश , ओम प्रकाश पाण्डेय , अजय यादव ,राजीव, डाक्टर अरविन्द सिंह, अजय श्रीवास्तव ने विचार व्यक्त करते हुए गंगा की अविरल व् पवित्र प्रवाहमान धारा को कशी तक आने के लिए जोशी कमेटी के संस्तुतियों को लागु करने की मांग की। धरने के पश्चात एक प्रतिनिधि मंडल जिला प्रशासन से मिल कर राष्ट्रपति जी को ज्ञापन प्रेषित कर इस सम्बन्ध में तत्काल हस्तक्षेप की मांग किया।

हमारी वरुणा का यह माननाहै की नदिया हमारे लिए प्रकृति की उपहार है इन्हे किसी भी रूप में विकृत नही किया जन चाहिए। इसी सोच के साथ हमने गंगा पर बनाये गए अवरोध टिहरी बाँध का सदैव विरोध किया है। हम विकास के विरुद्ध नही है परन्तु विकास को विनास के मूल्य पर नही स्वीकार सकते।

आज गंगा नदी का जल गन्दा जल हो गया है । गंगोत्री व् गोमुख से चली अविरल व् प्राकृतिक गुणों वाली गंगा को बाँध कर संपूर्ण मैदानी क्षेत्रो को गंगा के ओसधीय व् पवित्र जल से वंचित किया जा रहा है। गंगा को अविरल प्रवाहित होना ही चाहिए, यह संपूर्ण देश व् समाज के हित में है। आज जरुरत है गंगा को राष्ट्रीय नदी के रूप में घोषित करने की। इन्ही मांगो को लेकर हमारी वरुणा द्वारा वाराणसी जिला मुख्यालय पर धरना दिया।
हमारी वरुणा सह संजोजक सूर्य भान के नेतृत्व में आयोजित इस धरने को डॉक्टर व्योमेश चित्रवंश, अजय श्रीवास्तव ,ओम प्रकाश पाण्डेय , अरविन्द सिंह ने संबोधित किया.

आज की वरुणा नदी : अंकुर के कैमरे की नजर से

अंकुर विस्वकर्मा अभी मात्र १८ साल के है । वे अभी बी.बी .ऐ की पढाई कर रहे है । लेकिन आज के वरुणा के हालत को देख वे भी दुखी है। अंकुर एक बहुत ही अच्छे फोटोग्राफर है। इनके इस सौक को देखते हुए हमारी वरुणा के संयोजक डाक्टर व्योमेश चित्रवंश ने इन्हे वरुण के मोजुदा स्वरुप का छायांकन का कार्य सौपा। दिए हुए चित्र अंकुर द्वारा ही लिए गए है। जिनमे से कुछ तो पुरस्कृत भी हो चुके है। दिल्ली में आयोजित साउथ एशिया कन्वेंशन आन एलिंग एंड डेड रिवर्स में व्योमेश एवं सूर्यभान द्वारा इन्ही चित्रों को दिखा कर वरुणा की समस्या से लोगो को परिचित कराया गया .

वाराणसी को पहचान देने वाली प्राचीन नदी वरुणा के प्रति जागरूकता एवं रास्ट्रीय सद्भावना को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से कार्तिक पूर्णिमा १३ नवम्बर २००८ को लाल बहादुर शास्त्री घाट पर इस वर्ष का वरुणा देव दीपावली महोत्सव मनाया जाएगा। इस सम्बन्ध में बताते हुए हमारी वरुणा अभियान के सह संयोजक सूर्य भान सिंह 'पृथ्वी मित्र' ने बताया कि हमारी वरुणा के संयोजक डाक्टर व्योमेश चित्रवंश होंगे .

French T.V. Channel FT1 is making documentary on Pollution in Varuna and Ganga

The French T V Channel FT1 is making a documentary film of 26 minuts on pollutin in river Varuna and Ganga at Varanasi. The channel will telecast it recently.
The director of film and Indian correspondent of the biggest channel of france Mr. Olivier Le Hellard and his team were in Varanasi for shooting. They interviewed with Dr. Vyomesh Choitravansh and his associates, who are working for survival and cleanness of Varuna. Olivier became very impress and he assured us that he will do everythings what he can do.

Dr. Narendra Kohli, the Famous Hindi writer supported HAMARI VARUNA for Maa Ganga Mukti Abhiyan. He send his wishes to Dr. Vyomesh Chitravansh for the success of movement and express his anxity about Prof. G.D.Agrawal and especially for Surya Bhan, the co-convenor of HAMARI VARUNA. Dr. Kohli, the writer of ABHUDAY and MAHASAMAR called to Prof. Agrawal and enqured about his health.

HAMARI VARUNA is on Varuna Parikrama Yatra

HAMARI VARUNA abhiyan is going to start a Varuna parikrama yatra for the awareness about river Varuna and its problems. this yatra will be held in 2nd week of june 2008 from Sarai Mohana (varanasi) the confluence place of ganga and varuna to Melham(allahabad) the origine place of Varuna. Suryabhan Singh, our sub-convener will lead this moovement with 10 more padyatries. The padyatree will make the units of HAMARI VARUNA abhiyan in every villages. Suryabhan is telling about this yatra " We will start from saraimohana and take the right side of river Varuna, they will organise nukkad sabha(street meetings) in every tolas and mohallas ,which are situated at the Varuna's bank. We will try to aware the local and native public about ground water problems, polluton problems ,environmental development by pumphlates, meetings , reports and film shows. The one objective of yatra is also to study and research about the herbal and medicated plants which were found at varuna's bank. "
The yatra is dreamproject of Dr Vyomesh Chitravansh, our convener. He has documented about river Varuna when he was student of Udai pratap College Varanasi, the famous autonomous institution . At that time he and Suryabhan has completed the tour around Varuna for the knowledge of its history and geogaraphy. In fact ,the rootcause was that tour, which attracted Dr Chitravansh about Varuna. After that, he collected all the matterials and thoughts about this river and got it that the Varuna river was prehistorical river which is described in hindu mythological books and purans. he met the native old and aged people of this area and search out the problems. It was interesting that the Varuna was lifeline untill only before 20 years , it was use for drinking water ,cattles and medicines, it maintained the ground water lavel of Varanasi, Bhadohi and Jounpur. but in these 20 years, Varuna is destroying due to pollution , Govt. policies and encroachment. So it is creating some problems for adjescent areas. Now Varanasi is facing big problem of ground water steta and ground water pollution. Varuna was being filled by garbages and chemical wastage. It is in position to die and she is ailing.
We are hopeful that this yatra will create a awareness about varuna and the village units of Hamari Varuna will create a solutions.

A man who has a dream for river Varuna DR. VYOMESH CHITRAVANSH

Varanasi city is situated between twins rivers Varuna and Assi, which flows north and south of this city. Though, Varanasi is known for Ganga's ghats, but it was named by river Varuna. Varuna was described in ancient hindu mythological books like Rigveda,Matsya Puran, Agni Puran, Mahabharat and jatak kathayen. Before only 20 years, Varuna was known as lifeline of Varanasi city.It's water was very medicated and used for drinking and cattles. Its bank was famous for medicinal plants and herbal vegitations, But now a days, Varuna is one of the most polluted rivers of India. It is ailing and dying due to pollution, polithine and politics.
For revival of Varuna, some youngesters of Varanasi sarted a revival and awareness movement called HAMARI VARUNA abhiyan in the leadership of Dr. Vyomesh Chitravansh, a dedicated socialworker and Advocate at Varanasi. He is known in all over Varanasi and Eastern U.P. for his social concerns and legal awareness programes. He is attrcting the society by his articles in newspapers. He born on 30th January 1969 and studied in U.P.College and Banaras Hindu University Varanasi. Since his student life he is attached with social services and started writing on social evils and issues. His regular weekly calumn "Hasiye per" in Amardeep hindi weekly was very famous and notable at that time.
As an Advocate he came in legal practice and started a legal awareness programe for general people about their legal and fundamental rights in rural and remote areas of Varanasi and Bhadohi with some Voluntary Organizations . For this movement he organiged some advocates of different fields and made the FLASH which is Forum for Legal Awareness, Social & Human rights. It is working as a legal safety volve in Varanasi and adjacent areas.
About Varuna River Programe:
Dr. Chitravansh is local tripical Banarasi. He has a pain and affection for this oldest city,its culture and its heritage. He was very sad when he saw that river Assi has totaly desrted and ended due to land mafias and govt. nexus and Varuna is also in their target. he planned to save and revival Varuna. Now a days Varuna is facing problems for her existance due to encroachment, pollution ,polithine, govt. policicies and lacks of awareness of local people. Then, he organised a group of youths and HAMARI VARUNA abhiyan formed. He started his works with his friends on river by Shramdaan and organising the people. For this purpose he has completed a padyatra at river Varuna's bank from its origin place Melham to ending place Sarai Mohana with his groups. He called nukkad meetings, schools and intellectuals for contributing their efforts in this programe. At present HAMARI VARUNA abhiyan is well organised with Advocates, Students,Doctors and Social workers. Due to his personal efforts now Varuna revival programe is being run in around 30 villages . The Govt. has orderd to ban on garbage dumping in Varuna . More than50 schools are planning to plantation on river Varuna 's bank. In Varanasi, there is permanent Shramdaan and awareness programme is being runned. In Allahabad , Melham Tall is digging and planning to fill by water . Due to his devotion he invited to South Asian Convention on ailing and dead rivers at New Delhi in july 2007. But Dr. Vyomesh Chitravansh is not satisfied by only these. He has only one dream to clean and evergreen Varuna. He is sure that the Varuna will become lifeline of Varanasi again. He has a vision and magic to attract the people on Varuna's problems.
